The ECDL certification which started as a small European Commission-funded project undertaken by CEPIS has developed into the global standard and certification body for end-user digital skills. Another CEPIS certification, the European Certification for Informatics Professionals (EUCIP) is receiving increasing pan-European recognition amongst IT professionals.
