Report shows CIOs Need to be IT-Enabled Leaders as their Strategic Role Expands

INSEAD eLab’s collaboration with CIOnet on the 2011 European CIO of the Year Awards resulted in the publication of the IT-Enabled Leadership Report, an in-depth study which surveyed 130 Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and interviewed 14 CIOs judged as most effective by their peers.

The report highlights the importance of CIOs in creating value from IT in various organisational settings. Organisations that do not engage with at least one of the three IT-enabled leadership categories (Client-driven CIO; Business-process driven CIO; Technology-driven CIO) will be at a disadvantage when pursuing opportunities to create value, be competitive and innovate.
