CEPIS at Second Digital Agenda Assembly

The Digital Agenda Assembly (DAA) is an annual event held by the EC in Brussels on 21-22 June. This eventbrought together 800 stakeholders from around Europe to discuss challenges and assess progress in the implementation of the targets specified in the Digital Agenda for Europe (DAE). The Assembly consisted of a plenary session and 8 workshops on topics such as cloud computing, social media and cyber security. The Digital Agenda online discussion platform launched earlier this year is available for your comments and the results will feed into a mid-term review by the European Commission.

Furthermore the recently published Digital Agenda Scoreboard 2012 that evaluated the DAE progress reveals that almost a quarter of the European labour force has insufficient ICT skills, and that many unemployed are not equipped with digital skills to find a job. As a consequence the European Commission predicts growing difficulties to fill ICT vacancies and highlights this area of concern. Of the 101 actions of the DAE 34 are complete, 52 are on track and 15 are delayed or at risk of delay.  Find Out More about the Digital Agenda for Europe
