Professional e-Competence - Italy

IT Manager: Declared and Calculated Profile

Italy may find much greater difficulty than the rest of Europe in filling future jobs with a ready and able supply of IT professionals. While Italy has almost 20% more young professionals than the rest of Europe, the level of post-secondary education is very low and not especially IT-focused. As regards job profiles, only 2% had the e-competences for the IT Manager roles, compared to 24% who declared this as their role.

Italy severely lags behind the rest of Europe in terms of achieving gender balance, with only 8% of female IT professionals among respondents. This is half the European average and the lowest female representation in Europe.
