Byron Nicolaides, Vice-President of the Hellenic Professionals Informatics Society (HePIS), has been inaugurated as President of the Council of European Professional Informatics Societies (CEPIS), at the 55th CEPIS Council meeting held in Vienna, Austria, on 26 November.
Byron Nicolaides is the Vice-President of the Hellenic Professionals Informatics Society (HePIS). He is also CEO of PEOPLECERT, a Board member of the ECDL Foundation, and a Fellow of the British Computer Society (BCS). Byron Nicolaides’ election as the new CEPIS President is a recognition of his outstanding contribution to the European ICT industry, and his dedication to its improvement. It is an acknowledgement of his continued commitment to the goals of CEPIS and his active involvement in initiatives to develop ICT professionalism and digital skills across Europe.
Byron Nicolaides said that "considering the impact of ICT in the current and future economic environment, we endeavour to equip IT professionals with the necessary skills to bridge the gap between supply and demand for IT professionals, aiming to decrease unemployment in Europe."
