Third workshop on ‘DIGIFRAME’ held in Brussels

European CommissionOn June 21, the 3rd workshop was held in Brussels on the DIGIFRAME, which is an initiative to promote digital transformation in businesses within an organisational reference framework.

The event gathered experts from industry, academia and IT societies across Europe to discuss the key findings of an interim report, outlining a proposed capability reference framework. The framework aims to provide organisations with a common platform to determine the digital capabilities, tools and competences that are necessary to grow their potential in a digitally transforming environment. By encouraging companies to upskill and train IT professionals, DIGIFRAME also seeks to help reduce the digital skill gap, which, according to the presented report, may result in a shortage of 526,000 IT specialists by 2020.

The project is coordinated by Capgemini Consulting in partnership with IDC and Empirica, under a service contract with the European Commission’s Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME) and is set to run until January 2019.
