Proposal passes in European Parliament for new regulation regarding ENISA and the ‘Cybersecurity Act’


european_parliamentThe proposal presented in the European Parliament for a regulation of the Council on ENISA, the ‘EU Cybersecurity Agency’, repealing Regulation (EU) 526/2013, and on Information and Communication Technology cybersecurity certification (‘Cybersecurity Act’) has been passed.

The resolution calls for more resources to be allocated to ENISA given the increasing cybersecurity threats and challenges the Union is facing, while it also supporting the need for a standardised EU-wide certification, providing common cybersecurity requirements and evaluation criteria across national markets and sectors.
