ITRE opinion on education in the digital era adopted in the European Parliament

The European Parliament’s Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) has adopted an opinion on a motion for education in the digital era, currently being considered by the body’s Committee on Culture and Education (CULT). ITRE calls for more investment in areas, such as closing the digital divide and improved digital infrastructure, as well as training teachers with relevant qualifications.

The motion itself, entitled ‘Education in the digital era: challenges, opportunities and lessons for EU policy design’, will be voted on in the European Parliament this December.
