EPP urges European Commission to put clear focus on women in digital as key priority

In a recently published resolution, the European People’s Party (EPP) outlines a number of critical points that emphasise the need for a more empathic focus on inclusion of women in digital, and underlines the need to remove gender-based discrimination and obstacles to access to the digital sector labour market. The resolution particularly highlights the unacceptable gender imbalance in the decision-making positions in the digital sector – digital sectors have the highest percentage of all-male boards - as well as in the public spheres where decisions on digital technology are taken.

Finally, the resolution calls on the EU Member States to constantly highlight the potential of digital for the purpose of gender equality and inclusive economic growth.
