IFIP publishes position paper on IoT

The federation of societies of ICT professionals, IFIP, has published its position paper on the developing Internet of Things, which supports a ‘human centred’ approach. This implies “an environment where IoT will empower people and not transform them into hostages of technology”, the paper states.

There are a total of 10 positions in the paper, covering the opportunities and threats, competences, education and users, multi-disciplinary perspectives, opt in/opt out choice for users, user control, user obligations, user involvement, role and responsibility of industry and the role of policymakers.

The full position paper may be found on IFIP’s website - IFIP welcomes comments and further suggestions from CEPIS members.
