Ada Awards: Europe recognises girls and women in ICT

On 16 October, the Ada Awards ceremony took place in Brussels. The Commissioner for the Digital Economy and Society, Mariya Gabriel, along with representatives from the Awards’ partners and sponsors, presented well-earned trophies to the Digital Girls of the Year, in three age categories, and the Digital Woman of the Year.

The Ada Awards, founded in 2012 by the Brussels-based Digital Leadership Institute, promotes top girls and women in digital fields in Europe to increase their numbers. CEPIS has been a partner to the initiative since its inception. This year, Ms Arnheidur Gudmundsdottir, in her capacity as an active member of the CEPIS Women in ICT Task Force, participated in the jury of the awards.
