News from the Spanish Member Society - ATI

A new Board of the Spanish Society, Asociación de Tecnicos de Informatica, (ATI) has been elected for a period of three years. It combines experience and fresh blood with the election of a new President, Didac Lopez-Vinas. Mr. Lopez-Vinas was President of the Catalonia Chapter of ATI until recently and is CIO of the University of Girona. He succeeds Josep Molas, who remained at the helm of the association for eleven productive years. Mr. Lopez-Vinas has declared that the new Board is firmly determined to preserve, and even increase, the traditional high levels of cooperation that have existed for many years between CEPIS and ATI in many projects.

ATI has also signed a cooperation agreement with the Chinese Institute of Electronics (CIE) which is a member of IFIP. The agreement includes collaboration in fields such as events and publications and is the result of a fruitful and friendly meeting held in Madrid by delegations of both societies; Mr. Jichuan Wu, President of CIE and former Minister of Industry and Information Technologies, and Rafael Fernández Calvo, senior member of the ATI Board. ATI had the opportunity to describe the main goals and projects of CEPIS and have informed the CEPIS Secretariat that our Chinese colleagues expressed interest in establishing relationships with CEPIS.

Thank you to Rafael Fernández Calvo from ATI for this information.
